Bhagavad-gītā
Introduction
Bhagavad-gītā is a world-class masterpiece written in Sanskrit (the world’s most sophisticated language). It is the ultimate guide for humanity at-large. The Bhagavad-gītā is best described within itself by the following words:
“This knowledge is the king of education, the most secret of all secrets.” [Bhagavad-gītā excerpt from 9th Chapter verse 2]
The Bhagavad-gītā describes the conversation between two great personalities: Arjuna and Kṛṣṇa. The conversation takes places in the middle of a battlefield, when a great world war was about to start 5000 years ago.
Although written in Sanskrit, many English translations are available (and other languages too). Out of the many translations, there is one that summarizes The Vedic Way completely: “Bhagavad-gītā As It Is” by the author Śrīla Prabhupāda. Śrīla Prabhupāda is not only a great teacher and translator, but a topmost practitioner of the vedic essence.
The book and its commentaries are quite complex for a newcomer, one will encounter many new concepts and unknown words. It takes a lot of patience, determination and a good dictionary to study but the endeavor is well worth it since it will change your life forever!
